Larry Creek 1/5/2023

Trails at Larry Creek(off Bass Creek Road) were groomed today. The first half mile is very icy, but after that the surface is pretty nice for skiing. These trails receive a lot of foot and dog traffic, so if you want to ski it in good conditions, get out there in the next day or 2.
If the snow holds up we will likely continue to groom these trails every 2 weeks for the rest of the winter.
Grooming on these trails is new this season and is being doing in partnership with the Bitterroot National Forest. Please let us and the forest know what you think.

Chief Joseph Pass 12/31/22

The upper ski trails (everything but banshee, middle fork and Joseph creek) at Chief Joseph Pass were groomed this morning.

Como 12/30/2022

Our volunteer grooming crew spent 5 hours on the trails at Lake Como today, and for the first time this season all the trails are groomed. The corduroy is a little rough in some sports because of rapidly warming temperatures. But the warm temperatures worked very well for filling in the many large ruts and holes in the trail. Beware there are some spots of bare on on 550.
This weekend should be great conditions for skiing and snowshoeing. Once the snow has setup overnight it should be good conditions for fat biking as long as temperatures stay bellow freezing.

Chief Joseph Pass 12/30/2022

Ski trails at Chief Joseph Pass were groomed today, including Banshee, Joseph Creek, and Middle fork which have not been groomed recently do to lack of snow.

Chief Joseph Pass 12/28/2022

The rain in the valley the last few days mostly fell as snow at Chief Joseph pass, and the snow is really stacking up. Grooming started around 10:30 this morning, all ski trails should be groomed this afternoon.

Fairgrounds 12/24/2022

Fairgrounds were groomed this morning, including tracks.

Como 12/23/22

Volunteer crew groomed Como today.

Lots of new snow, quite deep. We were able to get 550, Upper, Middle and Wolf Track/Shannon Gulch more packed down.

We ran out of day before we could get 550A packed down past the gate.

Trails are way too soft to skate ski or ride on.

Park at the Boat Ramp and hike up the trail (follow the blue diamonds), the 550 rd. has 15″ of new snow on it from the bottom. No one had tried to get up it today and it snowed hard all day and was dumping when we left so it will be even deeper tomorrow.

The Touring will be wonderful!

Chief Joseph Pass 12/23/22

Most ski trails at Chief Joseph Pass were groomed today. Saturday morning should be great skiing before the next storm moves in Saturday afternoon.

Chief Joseph Pass 12/21/22

All ski trails at Chief Joseph Pass were groomed today, and saw almost no traffic so they are in great condition. But there is a reason they saw so few skiers: it’s really cold! If you come up to ski Thursday be prepared for temperatures well below zero. It will be too cold for skate skiing, but should be great classic skiing for the extra hardy among us.

Rust Buster results
