Grooming Report – Saturday 12/23/2017

Gibbons Pass and Chief Joseph have received approx. 30 inches of snow this week. We are working hard to keep the trails in shape for all snow enthusiasts. Some tracks were set today on many runs. The Emergency Exit is now usable. All runs have been groomed over the last 3 days even if they don’t look like it. Except Middle Fork.

Trail Update Monday 12/18/2017

It snowed 3-4 inches on the trails last night. It’s still great classic skiing conditions, but it’s probably getting a little deep for skating. We will be grooming again later this week, but until then it’s probably best to stick to classic skis or snowshoes.

Grooming Report – Saturday 12/16/2017 PM

Our volunteer snowmobile grooming crew was out today and groomed all of the ski trails. This was the first time Middle Fork, Banshee, and Whoopee where groomed this year, they are still very soft and not recommended for skiing. This was the second time Joseph Creek has been groomed, it should be firm enough to ski, but it’s still a little rough, and does not have tracks set.

The multiuse trails were groomed this morning with the snowcat.

Grooming Report – Saturday 12/16/2017 AM

2 inches of snow fell during the night and it’s currently still snowing.

The snowcat was out on the Multiple Use Trails yesterday and this morning. Gibbons Pass Road, Overlook, Coyote, Hogans Run, and Trail Creek Road were groomed. More snow is needed before Sunshine and Rabbit Run can be groomed. More grooming will be done over the weekend as needed.

The volunteer snowmobile grooming crew will be out on the ski trails grooming this morning.

With the snow forecasted for this week we should have enough snow to switch to snowcat grooming on all of the trails, and be done with snowmobile grooming for a while.

Gibbons pass road, Trail creek road from Gibbons pass to Hogan Cabin, and Hogans run were groomed today.
More snow is needed before Coyote, Rabbit, and Sunshine can be groomed.
Trail Creek Road from Hogans to hwy 43 is scheduled to be groomed later this week.

The ski trails are currently not scheduled to be groomed this Friday, as the skiing is still good, and it is supposed to snow Friday night, so any grooming would be a waste of time.
Stay tuned for updates on the grooming plan for the ski trails for the weekend.
